Installed more ram, now BIOS boots very slowly

I just installed 64 GB of ram on my computer (up from 16 GB). Now my computer takes much longer to display the bios splash screen (almost 1 minute), and if I press F2, asking to show the bios, it also takes a very long time 45+ seconds. It will eventually boot, and it does recognize all 64GB of ECC ram in quad channel configuration.

I have an AsRock X99 Extreme4/3.1 motherboard. I've gone into bios and made sure the memory check is disabled on startup. All 4 sticks of memory were bought together as a package from the manufacturer.

Is this normal? Any recommendations on what I could do to get my boot times back to normal, or is this just the cost of adding a bunch of ram?

I have a Xeon e5-1650 v3. I believe I have the latest bios. I haven't checked for a few weeks though. After installing new ram, is it worth hitting the reset CMOS switch?

Would drivers effect the boot time of the motherboard's bios?
