Installed new CPU and now no sound, only start up chime

I just upgraded my CPU from i5 6500 to i7 7700k but now I have no sound apart from the windows chime on start up. Bios all done correctly, updated my realtek driver too but still no sound via back or front jack. The sound panel tells me that it's not detected/plugged in. My mobo is a Z170a pc mate.

Have you tried clearing the CMOS (unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for a minute)?

Yes I have tried this

Then an option would be a sound card.
