Question Installed new IOS and now i can't get inn to the web GUI - cisco catalyst C2960

Hello everyone!


I have recently got my self a used cisco WS-C2960 and i have a problem with getting it to work.

I have search around the internet for many hours now and i can't see to find the answer i need, so i gonna put out a question here and hope that i can get the switch working with some help.

When i got the switch the first thing i thought i would do is to factory resett it, so i did just that. But for some reason i couldn't get inn to the web interface, and i tried and i tried but noting seemed to work... I got my self the brightest idea that i would wipe the whole thing and install a new IOS, more specifically this one c2960c405-universalk9-tar.152-7.E2.tar from:https://software.cisco.com/download/home/283915790/type/280805680/release/15.2.7E2?i=!pp

I have now gotten the switch to boot and everything, and seen it via the console trough Tera Term. and i have changed the ip on vlan1 to 192.168.2.13 so that i could access it with my browser and i did! I got prompted to a window where i can enter a username and password, but regardless of what i try it won't work. Tried to put in a picture of it but for some reason i could't.


I have tried to sign in with the basics:

cisco cisco

Cisco cisco

admin admin


But no luck.


I have also tried to create a user via the console terminal, but that didn't work either.

Is there something i have done wrong? Have i installed the right IOS or have i done a big fail...

Btw i'am no expert or anything simply just someone who wanna start learn more about network, server's etc.

So some help would be nice.

your config.text is dated 2006, which means u didnt reset yet old password

But i typed the password and it worked, but my browser now is just pure white with an X button on the top left corner that does nothing.
