I installed a new psu and my pc wont power on.

Tried to jump the mobo but aside from an electrip zap sound around psu nothing happens.

Tried the paperclip method to see if psu is broken or not but it didnt work (works on my old psu)

Made sure that all the cables are inserted properly

Green light on my mobo does turn on when I power on the psu.

Any ideas?

Make and model of the PSU? We;re also going to need to know the rest of your system's specs. Also, the paperclip test doesn't indicate how much power the PSU can effectively output to the entire system, it's also why you're asked to induce a load on one of the connectors on the PSU - it doesn't take much to power up an HDD or a fan but it takes much more to power the entire system.
