Question installed new ram and pc doesnt have output

i installed new ram, before i had 2 sticks of ddr3 4 gb 1600mhz and now i got 2 sticks of ddr3 8 gb 1600. i have a msi h81d pro motherboard and an i5 4690 cpu. i followed a tutorial online which resets bios to default settings and then switch to new ram, and my monitor was still black. i then looked at a few other posts in this forum and saw that you should take the CMOS battery out for a minute and then put it back in and it should work, but my screen is still black. my pc still works with old ram fine. any help?

You could try updating your bios with the old ram in and then try out the new ram again. This could solve the compatibility issue.

You have to download the bios on the manufacturer support page first. Tell me which mainboard you use.

However be sure that it 100% is the correct mainboard before trying to flash the bios. You can find the name on the mainboard itself if you don’t have documentation.

Already told you, it can support more Ram sticks, solve the compatibility issues.

my bad, im just very stuck and not used to all this, it doesnt allow me to do so as i dont have a "USB media"
