Installed Windows XP alongside Windows 98; Need to fix boot.ini

Hi there. I had windows 98 installed at C:\Windows. I then proceeded to install Windows XP in C:\setup (SAME PARTITION). Windows 98 has been erased from the bootloader, and I need to put it back. So far, I have had no luck. I cannot reinstall the OS from a bootable media. How do I fix this? Thanks.

I fixed it with BootPart:

If you installed XP on same partition as Win98, that means the entire Win98 installation has been wiped out, not just it's bootloader entry.


Only way to get Win98 back in that case is to reinstall it mate.

Yeah I suppose installing it on the same partition would be problematic, I should learn to read more carefully
