My build got stalled with a dead stick of RAM so I want to do a little RAM swapping to get my new system up.
I'd like to keep my current Dell 7050 T operating so I have access to the internet if my new build runs into problems and I have an old HP Z800 that is no longer functional.
I've pulled 4 4GB sticks of DDR3 RAM from the Z800 and I want to put them in the Dell 7050 and take the 2 8GB DDR4 sticks from the Dell and put them into my new i5 124000 build.
The specifications for the Dell 7050 say this;
"4 DIMM slots Tower/Small Form Factor, 2 SODIMM slots Micro. Maximum memory is 64GB on Tower/Small
Form Factor, 32GB on Micro. Non-ECC dual-channel 2400MHz DDR4 SDRAM (2133MHz performance on
Intel® 6th generation processors)"
Does that mean I'm restricted to using only DDR4 RAM in the Dell or can I fill the 4 DIMM slots in the 7050 with the 4 DRR3 sticks from the Z800?
