Question Installing GPU drivers crashes the PC

So I changed from an intel CPU to a Ryzen including the motherboard and kept everything else. But... my gigabyte RX 5700XT will not accept any driver instalations, where the second I install a driver, it turns off the PC and when I try to turn it on again, it freezes on the loading screen (probably the boot screen with the circle of dots rotating). Earlier when I have the intel CPU, all that I had to do was reinstall an updated driver in safe mode and everything worked out fine. Unlike now where any version of the driver will result in a shutdown.
I have downloaded AMD chipset drivers, updated BIOS, downloaded AMD ryzen master, and clean reinstalled windows.
EDIT: turns out that placing the GPU in the second highest pcie slot on the motherboard works??? (probably because it is slower, or the mobo is faulty)
Thank you in advance
