Solution

According to the specs...

Usually, the lower the port #, the better. On your MB you'll find something like: SATA_0, SATA_1, SATA_2, etc. If you have an Intel chipset, the Intel SATA controller will likely be on the first few ports. These would be the preferred ports over others that may be on a third party controller, like Marvel.

What MB do you have?

the mother board is GA-H61M-DS2DVI.

According to the specs: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H61MX_R20/#specifications
That board has "Intel® H61(B3) chipset :
4 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), blue"

So, all ports "Should" be equivalent, but I would follow Hawkeye22's advice: check your manual and favor the lower numbered ports for your HDD.

Edit: I'm not sure how I got to the Asus site above for a Gigabyte MB. Here is the correct website: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4403#sp
The advice is still the same, however.

Sorry for the mix-up.
