Question installing linux problem

i have issue installing linux mint or any linux for that matter on this HP laptop all i get is scrambled screen whenever i try to g o into the OS on the stick and i havent found one single way to install it

Asssuming you had windows installed prior to this - did the computer work ?

yes sorry i havent had time to find the make of hte machine ...i will soon but do you know how and why this could be and how to circumvent it?

How can people know = Magic crystal ball ? Provide hw info. If you have nvidia card, that is a possible issue.
