So I want to install my new SSD. I have an iron side certified 120gb ssd. And I’m installing a 970 evo plus m.2, when I install it it tells me to select proper boot device or insert boot media. When I go into bios I see my 970 evo and my 1tb external hard drive but I don’t see my old 120gb SSD. Therefore my system will not boot up because my operating system is on my ssd. Should I clone my ssd onto my hard drive or am I missing a step so that my old SSD still boots. Thank you for your time

The motherboard is a z390 chipset and I have been installing it on the port under the graphics card which is where ironside installed the standoff. I do not currently know which ports my ssd is on and I don't know where to enable my 970 from an x2 to an x4 but it may do that automatically. Thank you for your help

We'd need to know the specific motherboard.
Make and model. z390 isn't enough to determine.

I change my main ssd sata port and re installed my new 970 and it booted up. I went to disk management to allocate the space and it doesn't show up in my disk management.

The first one is a link to my disk manager and the second one is in device manager. It also shows up in my bios so I have no clue why it doesn't show up in my disk manager. Sorry its from twitter but it wouldn't copy link and I don't know how else to post it lmfao
