Installing operating system on external hard disk

Hello,
I am atempting to install windows 7 and XP on a 500gb disk drive, I also have an 80gb drive with Linux currently running on it. Is there anything that I should do so that I can access all three

To get a fresh menu (external drives not good to install an OS on) install XP, install Win 7, install Linux. you should get a boot menu to access all 3. Or get a boot manager: http://www.bing.com/search?q=boot+manager&src=IE-SearchBox

It should also be mentioned that windows 7 will not allow you to install on a hardrive that is using usb.
