Hey there community,
A friend of mine is interested in fixing up his old powermac G5. The computer is pretty much as the original with nothing replaced other than the HDD. Also, the Apple reseller clearly rejected our request to get a copy of OSx 10.4-10.5
From there on out i went to attempt to install Ubuntu Mint, which is supported by the G5 system. When attempting this, i had a 8GB USB drive bootable and with the installer on it,
It gave me an error: Cannot load the DIR, I have no experience working with Powermacs, so if anyone knows how to install Ubuntu Mint, or possibly something else, i'd appreciate it!
( I have to add that i've only made a bootable drive manually through windows and once automatically through Rufus.)
Best of regards,
Josh
