Installing program files (and programfilesx86) on separate drive.

Hello,
I recently bought a new computer with a 125gb SSD and a 2 TB separate drive. Windows is already on the SSD and some programs so it is already half full.
I was wondering if there is an option in which my new programs will automatically download in the 2TB drive.
I can get the 'normal' program files to download on the separate drive, but the programfiles (x86) won't work.
How can I download the programfiles (x86) of programs on my second drive?

Second question:
Which programs should I still be installing on my SSD (because it is faster) and why?

Most install programs give you the option to specify where you want to install them, so that would be how to do it. As far as to which programs to put where, I'd put the ones you use least on the hard drive. One other point I'd like to make is that 240 GB SSDs aren't that much more expensive than the 120 GB ones, so keep that in mind next time you buy one.

First thing, is a windows 7 OS install shouldn't take up anywhere near half of your 125GB SSD. It should be closer to 30GB. If it's not, we can look at ways to trim that down.

Other than that, when you install an application, you can almost always specify the install directory. Sometimes you have to choose the advanced options on install, but you can almost always choose the secondary drive location.

As far as what you should install on the SSD, I would only install the apps you use the most often and rely on fast read/write speeds. Storage and less used apps can all go on secondary drive.
