Installing Ram Questions

I just got some 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400 DIMM Memory sticks for my vostro 410. I was wondering the order in which I should place sticks. Should I place them in slots next to eachother, or in the opposite slots? If you understand what Im saying, please offer me some help.
Update: Guess this isn't specific enough. Should I put the sticks in DIMM_1 and DIMM_2, or DIMM_1 and DIMM_3?

Thanks! This is my first time doing this, so Im a bit anxious. BTW, do I need to install anything else, or do I just boot up my computer and do what I want?

Well...besides the RAM...
CPU, CPU cooler, drives, PSU...

And then you have to install the OS. Which one did you purchase?
And then the driers for your hardware
And then run all the current updates for that OS
And then...maybe...if it all works, you can start to install your games and other stuff.

I think there's a misunderstanding. I didn't build my pc, Im just replacing ram.
