Installing Win7 Trouble

Hey,

Spent all of yesterday building a new pc. Really having some trouble with HDD. everything else working fine.

Story goes

I installed a 350gb hitachi HDD and that had a SATA #05 inmmient failure. So i ran spinrite and that said it was messed up

Then i put in a WD Caviar Blue 1tb drive. It was picked up but it says 931 gb used. No space free.
And cannot install windows because it is GFT Format.

Please help quick!!!!!
