Installing Windows 10 From USB

Hi, I'm new to pc's and stuff.

I know how to get Windows 10 64-bit OS on USB, and then select the priority settings on BIOS to removable devices, stuff like that,
But when I install the OS into the computer and it finishes installing, does the OS stay on the usb flash drive or does it go onto the hard drive/ssd I am using?

For example, the OS is installed, if I take out the USB that I used to install the OS will the whole computer crash?

No, it won't crash. In fact, you should remove the USB drive at some point (the installer should tell you to remove it).
