Installing windows 10 on new ssd with no CD

Hi all.

I just got a new 250 gb ssd. All I want to do is install windows 10 and a few games on it. I've read this question here http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1970730/installing-copy-windows-ssd.html but I couldn't get any info from it. I figured out everything up to the part where they talk about running the install program on the hdd and just setting it to install on the ssd. Which program are they talking about? I tried the windows 10 from the Microsoft site and it didn't give me an ssd install option.

1) If you have Windows 8 on the HDD, it can only be upgraded on the HDD. You need to clean install after upgrading.
2) If you want to clean install in 1511 version with a known Windows 8 key, remove the HDD entirely and then follow the instructions at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 to install using a USB memory or DVD.
3) SSD and HDD are the "same thing" as far as installs go.

So you're saying the only way to do it is to disconnect the HDD from the computer and install it on the SSD through a CD? Of course I would be able to reinstall the HDD into the computer and then all my files from before would be there even though the OS would now be on the SSD, right?

Yes, that's exactly right. Except that you CANNOT use CDs, you MUST use either a 4GB+ USB stick or DVD.
