I am considering buying a new hybrid or sdd to run my operating system, and was wondering how i would go about installing it to a new sdd or hybrid once the system comes out. will it be as simple as choose where to install it? I am also going for the free upgrade, so will it just install where my current OS (windows 7) is installed?

Thanks in advance,

G

Solution
In regards to the upgrade process, details on how the upgrade will be validated have not yet been released and as such, there is no way to be certain what the correct path is. If you are looking to ensure that you are able to use the free upgrade offer, you will be best off to leave your existing Windows 7 installation intact or create a system image backup that can be restored. You could install Windows 10 in a dual boot configuration alongside Windows 7, or install it in a virtual machine.

I'm not sure you will be able to install Windows 10 (released version) over the Technical preview. Microsoft many it know that the Technical preview is Beta software and not stable. So the didn't recommend using it as you main OS.

Agreed. Win 10 was rather unstable when I used it, and I returned to Win 7.
