Installing Windows 8 over Windows 2000

How can I install Windows 8 over Windows 2000? I understand that I cannot upgrade. The Upgrade Assistant does not support Windows 2000. Is there any other ways to check to see if my machine is compatible with Windows 8? I understand that I will have to buy a full Windows 8 license and that I cannot upgrade.

Get Win7 if you plan on gaming. If not, just install Linux. Either way it's less of a hassle.

No, that makes no difference.

The "upgrade" process won't work with anything, except possibly from XP to Vista if memory serves. Not worth the hassle, especially if the system is that old then the hardware most likely will not run anything past XP without being very s-l-o-w. What are your hardware specifications? CPU, how much RAM, etc.

This is my solution. I will get Linux.
