Installing Windows and setting up boot dive using someone else's PC?

So if I put my freshly bought HDD in someone else's PC for them to install windows, could I then take that HDD home put it in PC and it work as my boot drive? Or can you run into compatibility issues or something?

Bad idea.
It probably will not work. Just wait until you get your PC built, and install the OS in the system where it will live.

Yeah don't get me wrong it would have the key and everything, it's just it would be hooked up to a differrent system during install.

You CAN move them, but is more trouble than its worth. Like USAAFRET said, it's a much better idea to install where it will live. It will be stable that way too.
