Installing windows on new ssd, laptop with only usb3ports.

2 year old asus laptop, tells me the hard drive is damaged and needs to be replaced. I got a samsung ssd and put it in, tried to do a clean windows installation (i dont need the stuff on the old hard drive), but when i run windows installation from iso on usb stick or from external dvd player (exact same result with both), it tells me it needs device drivers. I cant get the drivers since I can't boot, now that I have a hard drive with no Windows. Cloning the old hard drive doesnt work, it's too damaged. Any advice?

I tried that, with external Dvd player (the laptop doesnt have an optical drive). It was the first thing I tried. Same problem: it tells me it's missing a device driver
