Installing Windows with a System Image from a different computer...driver issue?

Hi Everyone,

I am attempting to restore a Windows 7 image from one computer to another. I understand that the 'Backup & Restore' functionality, which I used to create a system image, is not intended to be used between different computer models, however I am giving this a go anyway. I have successfully installed the image backup from computer 'A' to computer 'B' however computer 'B' is presenting a BSOD, as shown below -

I was able to find some information online related to this error, it mostly pertains to Windows XP, but I believe that it is still relevant.

Advanced troubleshooting for "Stop error code 0x0000007B (INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE)" errors in Windows XP

I strongly believe that the issue relates to drivers, so I am wondering if there is 1). Any 'low level' way of adding relevant drivers to a Windows 7 installation without booting into Windows at all?, 2). Whether alternative drivers could be added to the system image?

Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Davo

1. Try booting the newly installed inage is Safe Mode
2. Try the Startup Repair* if you have the OS disk, and if not, download a Windows ISO to build a compatible Installation disk... or use the installation disk to repair the installed OS, or do a clean installation.
3. Or download a Repair disk ISO from Microsoft for a startup repair.

*Does more than just repair the bootloader if you repeat the repair several times.

The Digital River downloads do not exist anymore.
You must go directly through Microsoft, and only for a non-OEM license.
