installing windows with external dvd drive

i've just build a pc, i'm using a nzxt h440 case, i have bought an external cd rom.. i want to install windows, may be stupid question but can i just put windows disc in external drive and install it that way?

Yes just set your BIOS to boot from external USB. Make sure you select UEFI boot when you do it.
