Question Integrated graphic on i7 9700F

I have an asrock z490M pro4 and an i7 9700F. Since this dosent have integrated graphics willl my pc not work? I also have a graphics card so will that count for my graphics?

The asrock has a LGA 1151 and the i7 9700F needs a LGA 1151 so woudnt they be compatable?

9700F: compatible with 300 series motherboards only.

That Z490 mobo: the list of supported cpus is all there in the link rgd1101 provided; the 9700f is not there.


The cpu may be mechanically compatible(Socket LGA 1151 = LGA 1200) with that Z490 board, but not electrically; the board will not recognize it, regardless of bios version.
Either:
A)Replace 9700F with a 10th gen cpu.
B)Replace the Z490 board with a B365 or Z390 one.

That motherboard is a socket 1200 and does not support the 9700F.

For the 9700F: B365 and Z390 would be ready to go.
The other 300 series, you're not guaranteed to get a board with a 9th gen ready bios already on it. If that happens, you'd have to return it, or update the bios with an 8th gen.


For the current Asrock Z490 board: any 10th gen cpu would be ready to go.
An 11th gen cpu wouldn't work at all. Asrock didn't bother updating the microcode for this one.

The motherboard is newer than the CPU. Look at the CPU Support List (provided several times) and select a CPU from that list.

Well, that changes things quite a bit then. You should be set.
Just remember that the F denotes that the iGPU has been disabled/removed, so you need a gpu for your setup.

You're supposed to plug your monitor into the gpu. That's all there should be to it, but things don't always play out like they're supposed to...

Most of the headers on this board are hybrid, supporing both normal fans and pumps. On page 7 of the manual, they are marked with 2, 16, and 17. Plug the pump power connector into any one of those 3.
Plug the fans into any header you want.

I have a corsair H100i elite capellix cpu cooler but dont know where to plug the the cords into

I have them plugged into those exact ports and the fans arent spinning

Breadboard it. remove everything unneeded and see if it will work then.
