Hello, I was was wondering if having integrated graphics is needed to run a monitor from a USB adapter in a system that has a dedicated GPU.
I have a 1660 TI with 3 display outputs, and 3 monitors connected. I want to use a 4th with a USB to HDMI adapter, however, I also have a i5 9400F CPU. I understand the F means no integrated graphics, so I would assume a 4th monitor would not work. Is that correct?

Solution
They are an entirely self contained display adapter with very basic functions. As the USB ports (no matter I, II, III etc.) are severely bandwidth limited compared to a dedicated card don't expect to be able to stream 4k through them.
Thanks for the reply @ex_bubblehead. Glad to hear it.
I am still a bit confused on how it works. My understanding is the GPU would not drive it, and with no integrated graphics, what is actually driving the display?

Yes, the 4th monitor would be for background youtube :)
