Um, 133 MHz and SX don't go together, in my recollection. By the time anything ran that fast, the SX nomenclature was in the dustbin. Perhaps you mean 33 MHz SX? If not, what CPU did it have?

You are asking me to remember back quite a ways. It is possible it was a DX overclocked, but I could have sworn it was 133mhz. At the time I had my Pentium 83Mhz overdrive chip in a very similar build which was the faster chip, but Turbo wasn't effective on it as I recall. One of them started life as a 25Mhz CPU and the other 66Mhz, which based on what I am reading was a DX. I was just getting into computers back then, I didn't do my first from the ground up build until the Athlon K2 was out.

That was back in the days when your choice was either going to a computer shop, going to a computer show, or what we did for my first computer, a corporate auction. The midwest wasn't very computer friendly.

I think my dad ordered our 386 from an ad in PC Magazine or something like that. I've no idea where he got the parts to upgrade it to a Pentium 75, years later, but probably a local computer shop or Comp USA.

My first build was pieced together at a flea market - an AMD 486-DX4 100, which I later discovered ran its PCI bus at 25 MHz (instead of the normal 33 MHz). In order to use my CPU with that board, I had to order a VRM module over the phone. I have no clue what I used for the CPU cooler, though I doubt the CPU came with one. I'm not even sure the CPU was new. Anyway, that's when I first discovered Tom's (still hosted on pair.com, IIRC). I was amazed there was someone actually benchmarking and reviewing motherboards.

Acctualy AMD going to 7 NM is cool but get this. IBM is already building a 5nm chip. It is a RISC Chip but if you like UNIX systems it will be fast and use less power. If Intel and AMD do not watch out ARM could in Time kick the piss out of them. The ARM Chips are getting faster and smaller and being RISC are Faster than most. Hell a $35 Raspbery Pie board will run many programs as fast as a much faster intel or AMD chip. They already have 4 cores and up to 2.8Ghz on some of these smart phone inards System on a chip. Someone I think google is making an ARM based laptop. \apple is soon to make its own CPU not that I care too much but that will be a hit to intel if intel does not get there head out of there asses and wake up.Intel was offered the job off suppling the CPUs for I-Phones and 'they turned it down then wished like hell they had not arffter over 1 billion I phones were on the Market. ARM makes good chips that do a great job and they too should go after the desktop market. Nvidia and 'AMD are already scewing up on Graphics cards. I will not purchace one as soone as something as good comes along who does not RAPE us and Gouge us. NVIDIAs non compet bulshit is just flat sicaning. Fuck you NVIDIA. You will NEVER see another $ from me unless you stop trying to hinder technology. AMD has never done that kind of shit. I miss the VGA days when we had more competition and fster technology growth. It will happen again. Nvidea has forced the technology and it will hurt them in the long run.

No, that's not correct. The cores used in the latest Pi are some of the slowest 64-bit ARM cores. They're designed to be inexpensive and power-efficient - not fast. Not to mention things like it's memory interface or I/O interface. Also, check the clock speed.

But even a high-end ARM core is not faster than Skylake or Ryzen cores. Probably more efficient, but not faster.

As for the rest of your post, you'll need to watch your language, if you plan to stick around. Also, use paragraphs (like, when switching topics), and try to limit your posts to just a couple of topics, each.
