If your laptop and desktop both have an empty SATA port available, you can plug it into your desktop's motherboard or in your laptop, install the OS and you should be good to go.

Prior to dropping in that SSD, make sure you're on the latest BIOS update for your platform.

please check the link once , u will see how the connection of the disk is, quite diffrent then the normal SATA ones
