Question Intel 8700k or Intel 9900k Threadripper 1920x

Hey guys i am but confuse in buying new system. I am a visual effects artist and currently i am working on software such The Foundry Nuke, Blackmagic Fusion, After Effects etc. which demands much of working on 2k and 4k files.
Which processor you guys think should be best for my purpose?
I am in india so rates are as follows

Threadripper 1920x = 38K apporx + 25k for board.
8700K = 38K + 12-15k board
9900k= 48k + 12-15k board.

I’d go with the TR, 4 more cores is good. Do you have a GPU though because you need one for the 1920X

recently my editing on mostly 4k footages has gone high. So i am getting so much lag specially when files gets heavy with editing graphics. So i am planning to update CPU and.

one more thing am i currently bottlenecking GPU? could that be a reason for lag or its time to update both CPU and GPU?

Bring up task manager, start working and see what your usage is.

Well i have checked, and at 100% of all USED cores in 4k footage playback in software was previewing at 12.2 fps. but GPU usage was only 8-10% so i guess i need to get more cores-thread cpu? right? and keep the same GPU?

Would say so, what speed is your Ram though?

I have 2x16gb added, they are running at 2600. could not overclock to 3000.

2600 should be fine, not the best but was checking it was 2133 which would wreck ryzen
