Question Intel Arc B580 or AMD RX 6750 XT

These are the specs of my PC:

Intel Core i5-11600K Processor
GIGABYTE Z590 AORUS PRO AX
Thermalright PeerlessAssassin120 SEARGB
XPG 1TB GAMMIX S70 Blade
Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 850W fully modular
Kingston FURY Renegade 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL16

My case is Corsair iCue 465X
My monitor is MSI Pro MP273a - 1080p, 100Hz max.

I was planning on getting a Speedster QICK 319 at CAD 430 (USD 300) from my friend in Canada.

I recently heard about the Intel Arc B580 going for CAD 360 (USD 250). Both have the same VRAM and similar performance. I have heard Intel Arc B580 has better ray tracing performance than the RX 6750 XT.

Can you guys recommend which one is better?

I will say that I owned a 6700xt which is basically the same as the 6750xt, the 6750 xt is effectively slightly overclocked essentially.

That said, the 6700/6750 xt is a fine card but that is a decent price difference if you’re on a budget.

You may not get these exact numbers but this video should give an idea. This video is supposed to be the b580 vs a 6700xt. Keep in mind the 6750xt is slightly faster than the 6700xt.

Basically the 6750xt was a higher class card, but it’s a generation old, and about to be 2 generations old. Whereas the b580 is a current generation card so I imagine it will have driver support longer although Intel is still relatively new to the gpu arena.

That said you hit one important point, that the Intel looks like it will be better at ray tracing. A lot of folks might say they don’t care about ray tracing which I get, but if you look at the new Indiana Jones game, which is a great game btw. However that game requires ray tracing at a level of a 2060 super/rx 6600. So you can imagine more games might start doing this. In a year or so, do we hit the wall where say the 6750xt can’t hit the game requirements for that reason?

If I were on a budget I think honestly I’d roll the dice on the b580. The price difference you quote is quite a bit.

Keep in mind Intel being newer to the gpu space might mean more driver bugs but the reviews on the b580 have been positive so far. Ultimately it’s your call.

I am in the exact same situation as OP, initially i was about to pull the trigger on the B580, but after some research i found both the cards at same price, the B580 is new and has 3 year warranty, the 6700XT (not 6750XT) is used but will have 5 year warranty, the company selling the 6700XT buys and sells items and now has increased their warranty from 2 to 5, they are pretty reliable too.

I've heard that the 6700XT is about 5% faster, but the B580 has less power consumption.

I'm leaning towards the 6700XT because i think the B580 has poor performance in certain games, i don't think it's as consistently good as 6700XT, maybe drivers will improve but this is their second gen of GPU and i'm not so sure about the drivers.

Regarding the ray tracing, maybe what you're saying is true, but i cannot see it happening in a years time, maybe further in the future. It will definitely not be widespread just yet and will probably occur in only a few games, because i think it will hurt game sales.

Also, i will definitely be undervolting my card, on my current 6600 i decreased the wattage from 95W to about 50W average, with about 15% decrease in FPS, which is a good trade off IMO.
