One feature I'm interested in is ARL's iGPU. Reportedly, laptop ARL will get the same Alchemist cores as MTL (w/ Lunar Lake, being the premium part, getting Battlemage), while desktop ARL will get half the Alchemist cores (4 cores) as laptop.

Alchemist has proven its worth on laptops, being on par or at times better than 780M, so I'm curious how ARL-S (desktop) iGPU will perform w/ half the cores, but w/o the power constraint of the laptop part. My rough guess is it'll probably be similar to 5700G's iGPU performance or better, ie 720p gaming.

FPS gamers likely won't care, but for "casual" gamers--raises hand--it may be enough to not bother with a discrete GPU.

This seems like it should be fairly close to expected performance. It'll definitely be more usable than the existing IGP. The part I find a bit disappointing is that they should be the same cores as is in MTL so they're missing XMX which means lower quality upscaling.

If you haven't seen the listing already here's benchmarks on the 4 core mobile part:

Thanks for the idea of using Notebookcheck benchmark. A more explicit compare of Xe 4-core vs 780M vs Vega 8 (5700G),

Xe 4-core looks to be significantly better than Vega 8. If F1 23's benchmarks are representative, it should suffice for low-qual 1080p for lighter-gfx titles. Personally speaking, 1080p for strategy gaming looks viable.

Hopefully, being a desktop part w/ more power will give it a boost.
