Question Intel AX200 Wi-Fi 6 Low Speed Issue and Troubleshooting (MSI X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI)

Hello,

As I mentioned in the title, I have an MSI X570 Gaming Pro Carbon Wi-Fi motherboard. This motherboard uses Intel's AX200 Wi-Fi 6 network adapter.

I have a 1000 Mbps internet connection at home, and based on the speed tests I performed on the 5 GHz network with my phone and laptop, I can easily see speeds above 800 Mbps. My ping values range between 2 and 10.

However, from the same location in the house, when I test on my desktop computer, I occasionally see speeds around 250 Mbps (with ping between 2 and 10), but most of the time, I get results around 50-150 Mbps (with ping over 30). It's unlikely that there’s an issue with the device provided by ISP since all my other devices work flawlessly.

I’ve tried different versions of Wi-Fi drivers and applied many settings suggestions I found online through Device Manager. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to solve the problem.

MSI X570 Gaming Pro Carbon Wi-fi
MSI GTX 1060
16 GB Ram
AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
Windows 10 64 bit - 22H2
Zyxel EX3501-T0
*All drivers and Windows are up to date.

I’m awaiting your help. Thank you.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Make and model information for modem and router (or modem/router) if combined?

Run "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the Command prompt.

Post the full results. You should be able to copy and paste the results without needing to retype it all.

There has been no combination or merging process applied to the modem.

Is is exactly the same location. Did you place your phone in the same location as the computer antenna and test while the computer is running.

Your motherboard comes in a couple variations. Does yours have the antenna on a remote cable or are they mounted directly to the back of the motherboard.

The antenna placement is extremely critical, you want it as far away from the computer itself as you can. The large metal case blocks lots of signals.

The location the computer is in might be closer to say a neighbors wifi signals and getting more interference.

You really should avoid using a gaming desktop on wifi if you have any other options. Wifi is always subject to random interference. The bandwidth itself is more than good enough to play a game if it had stable latency. When you play a online game it generally uses under 1mbps but latency spikes of 150ms or more will cause lag games.

The antenna on my motherboard is this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/304749080621.

I have adjusted the position of the antenna multiple times, but it didn't make a difference.

I also tested with two different phones and a laptop at the same spot. In my Speedtest results, all my devices achieved speeds of 800 Mbps or higher. I don't have a setup for a wired connection. I am compelled to use wireless.

Then you will look at the wifi settings (from MSI X570 Gaming Pro Carbon Wi-Fi) something is blocking you
maybe some app from MSI center

I also considered the situation with MSI Center and tried a clean Windows installation, but the result didn't change.

If this system is using any application to "optimize" the network, remove it. Those often do more harm than good.

In fact, I would go so far as to recommend removing any MSI apps. They aren't necessary and can lead to similar issues.
I don't use MSI applications. Trash... I don't use any network traffic management applications either. Except for Cloudflare Warp. However, I'm experiencing the issue even without this program.

Understood. Is your motherboard BIOS fully up to date (with the most recent non-beta release)?

Kararlı kanalınız (Manuel) veya otomatik var mı?

Auto

Her şey düşük performans gösteren/arızalı kablosuz adaptöre işaret ediyor. Yerleşik kablosuz bağlantıyı devre dışı bırakabilir veya sadece mevcut performans seviyesiyle yaşayabilirsiniz.

I'm considering getting the TP-Link Archer BE230 router, which supports Wi-Fi 7. I'm currently using a GPON + the router provided by my ISP. I can't run cables to my location, so I plan to get my own router. However, this new device needs to receive the current internet wirelessly and then provide it to me via a wired connection. In other words, the wireless signal from the GPON + ISP's router should be received by the new TP-Link device, which will then provide a wired connection to my computer.
