yeah i decided to take alot of the guy's advice and go with an intel based computer
i decided that overclocking wasn't my cup of tea and I'm just going to run things stocked
I can't go over $700.
Am i missing any thing major? I already have a external dvd drive, no need for another one.
Everything compatible? Like always, suggestions are welcomed.

Just a fair warning... that 8500 GT ain't gonna do jack with modern games. Caveat emptor!!!

Save up and upgrade the video as soon as you can.

Consider the Antec EarthWatts 430w.
That will save you some money along with the mobo listed above.

That may help you get a better GPU.
That GPU will not let you play many games at all.
An 8600GT may be OK for some GPU intensive games.
The 8600GTS/1950/7900GS the minimum for any of the games they use for benchmarking. And then the performance will not be good.

If you were willing to OC, which is far easier than assembling the computer, you could save about $80-$90 on the CPU when added to the other suggestions may get you an 8800GT or 8800GTS which would let you actually play games.

Switching to the E4500 will also save you some cash and will run "ok" on stock and add some funds for the 8600GTS/7900GS/1950pro

Corsair without a doubt! And I echo the above comments, you won't be happy with an 8500, or even an 8600 for that matter...I would save a little more and get the 8800GT.

Antecs are reliable PSU's, so it's a tough choice. I would go with the Antec myself due to it being a 500W.

I would go with the Antec Earthwatts EA500 to save some money. Even that will be an overkill unless you will want to overclock a lot and get a GeForce 8800GTS 640 or Radeon 2900XT video card.

Looks much better, but I would pick a cheaper or lower-wattage brand name psu out if I weren't planning on getting 8800s. That psu is more than enough for even 8800 ultra.

What I'd personally recommend for that budget.

CPU: Intel E2160 OEM $72
MOBO: ABIT IP35-E $60AR
RAM: 2x1GB PC2-6400 (CL4) $40AR even $35AR available, just need to shop around
HSF: Any good HSF ranging from FREE AR, $2AR to $40, even $50+ for Tuniq Tower
GPU: 8600GT $75-80AR
PSU: Decent 500+ to 600Watt PSU $50-$100 with or without rebate
HDD: Depends on size, any SATA 3.0Gbps is good. Maxtor/Seagate's 7200.10 are great for their money. Might be able to toss in a Raptor if you don't need a monitor.

Get a decent casing, doesn't have to be expensive, what I do is mod it, get some fans installed.

Depends on what parts you get and how tight your budget is, you might still be able to squeeze in a 22" LCD for $180AR.

Install them, overclock them to 3.3-3.4GHz easily. My record on E2160 is 3.7GHz.
