Hey guys, I was dead set on a 1150 Haswell chipset and motherboard and my friend just told me about the LGA 2011 chipset but. I do have a budget the only thing is.

How "Future Proof is this really?" Price difference?

Is it just for Ivy Bridge-e CPUs? will it have broadwell.

I been on the market looking for months and for some reason I gave no thought to LGA 2011 because I am not interested in ivy bridge-e, I do not edit or render, but I don't know if I want to be locked in old product either.

if I do get this chipset I see motherboards in the $300 range but I am in the $200 range for motherboards.

are the $200 motherboards better than the $300 "Future Proof" motherboards?

is ivy-bridge e worth it?

I just need to know if it is sooo future proof that it will support broadwell?

Thank you

Go with a good Z87/1150 board...the "future proofing" really isn't worth the cost...looks as though 2011 may be dead anyway, and there won't be any worth while upgrades for it.

Ivy Bridge E is mainly for enthusiasts. The 6 core can help with rendering ECT. but ultimately, the price is not worth it for anyone with a budget.

Broadwell will have it's own chipset...no way to future proof for it.
