I think he was asking where the desktop GPU models of Volta are at... your links are for the data center models (not even a Quadro-type GPU for rendering, but a card specialized for "big data" & "deep learning").

And it's not like these are cheap, either. A server rack with 8 of these in it costs $150,000 USD (https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/05/nvidia-tesla-v100-gpu-details/); the article projects a single-slot version would cost around $10,000 USD/10,000£. That kind of price makes a Titan Xp look possitively bargain-basement in comparison.

Like I have listed in my previous comment Nvidia has the GPU but they are not ready to offer Volta gaming cards this month like they did with servers and the reason for that is that they are currently too expensive to manufacture. Volta GPUs cost close to $1000 to produce.PLUS Nvidia is not in a big rush to replace cards with the Pascal architecture. The GeForce GTX line is selling strong, and the 1080 Ti is still considered a monster for graphical performance and it has no competitor We should get to see Volta gaming cards sometime next year..

Really? And do you have a different news story that actually says they're ready "this month"? Because in every single article you mentioned, the word "desktop" is not found in a single spot -- not even using CTRL-F to just search for the word itself, let alone any mention of the Volta GPUs for use in anything other than AI or data center operations. Not even on nVidia's website is Volta talked about as anything but a supercomputing/AI/cloud provider solution. Nothing about Volta shows up on their "gaming" section, & even in the Quadro section a) the Tesla section just links back to the Volta section (again, AI/big data, not rendering or gaming), & b) none of the Quadro rendering GPUs (including even their top-line P6000 & GP100 cards) use Tesla (those are both Pascal GPUs).

Considering how we had a couple of months of rumors about the 1070TI before its official unveiling, & how we had months of talk about Pascal & the gaming cards before they first became available, you'll need something more concrete to prove they have Tesla gaming GPUs "ready to go next month if they wanted to".

Seems like we are a bit out of topic here ;) Are you actually looking and reading the links provided in my previous comments??? ? VOLTA HAS BEEN RELEASED FOR DATA CENTERS AND IT IS THE SUCCESSOR TO THE PREVIOUS PASCAL MICROARCHITECTURE. IT IS A NEW GPU ARCHITECTURE.
Engineered for the Modern Computer Nvidia launched the Volta chips in May as part of its Tesla V100 data center graphic processing unit (GPU) that will power systems from artificial intelligence (AI) to driverless cars and clouds. Dell EMC, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Huawei, IBM and Lenovo have all announced and are using Volta-based offerings for their customers. Yes, Volta is here... in the data warehouses NOT the desktop or the workstation, where the final designs are being finalized. They are not in production as a finished product outside of DataCenter use.
 

Well, can you find them in stores? So they're not quite there yet.

In brute force computing, Vega performs admirably; however it lags behind in games (except those that make use of all its features, the latest Wolfenstein seems to like Vega quite a lot - 56 running as well as 1080, 64 right there between 1080 and 1080Ti - source: guru3d). I'm not sure Volta's increased performance in distributed computing will translate into a performance increase in games. Maybe one of the reasons Nvidia isn't releasing Volta to gamers is because it's not as good as one would expect in games - along with them being in no hurry as performance leaders and with high manufacturing costs on the chip itself, I won't dispute that.

Yes is here and gaming cards are almost here...Following the surprise TITAN X Pascal launch slated for 2nd August, it looks like NVIDIA product development cycle is running on steroids, with reports emerging of the company accelerating its next-generation "Volta" architecture debut to May 2017, along the sidelines of next year's GTC. The architecture was originally scheduled to make its debut in 2018.

Much like "Pascal," the "Volta" architecture could first debut with HPC products, before moving on to the consumer graphics segment. NVIDIA could also retain the 16 nm FinFET+ process at TSMC for Volta. Stacked on-package memory such as HBM2 could be more readily available by 2017, and could hit sizable volumes towards the end of the year, making it ripe for implementation in high-volume consumer products.

Seems that we won't get Volta in gaming yet, Ampere is rumoured to come after Pascal - but not before 2018. AMD seems to be pushing for Vega 2.0 earlier than scheduled (they were initially planning for the end of 2018, but we may get that process shrink earlier).

So, no Volta for gamers.

Volta leans heavily towards AI workloads so it wouldn't be unexpected for them to either dumb down the architecture or just skip it altogether. Regardless of what AMD did with Vega, Nvidia won't push HBM2 towards consumers as it's not yet needed considering GDDR6 will provide a nice boost in bandwidth and Samsung has already confirmed their 16gbps modules so that's most likely what's to be found in Ampere. It'll probably get showed at CES in January 2018, in time for a March 2018 release just like Pascal.

Really????? no volta for gamers? :D These are old numbers from TweakTown we know that nvidia has volta But they have no competitor that's why they are not in a hurry.. We should volta sometime in 2018

As for performance, we should expect a 10-30% gain over the performance of the GTX 10 series parts, which would really put NVIDIA into the lead by an even larger margin.

Okay. I read it... AND I qoute from the article:

The new GeForce GTX 20 series would the 14nm FinFET refresh of the Pascal architecture, led by the GeForce GTX 2080 Ti which would use the refreshed GP102 core with 3384 CUDA cores, and GDDR5X on a 384-bit memory bus. Under that, we'll find the GTX 2080 which would replace the current GTX 1080, and then the GTX 2070 that could be the new price/performance champion.

Even the numbers you show for the GPU shows basically the same Pascal architecture for the 20xx series. Improvements, yes. Reusing the same chip numbers with different specs for the chips? Not so ingenious (just like the 1060 branding.) Glad to see changes to the 2060 Branding though. Even Intel changed the part numbers on its CPUs when it did its Haswell Refresh.
