Intel core 2 duo vs intel i5

Hello,i work with cubase and reason music programs and i d like to know which of core 2 duo and intel i5 processors is the best

I'd go with the i5 simply because it's newer, it's more efficient and it doesn't use a soon to be obsolete socket.

Intel core i5 all the way here, better performance,better power consumption, similar price, it's a no brainer especially for the programs you work with

If you are talking about the i5 dual cores they are better but are darastically overpriced. You'd be better off going i3 if you wanted an intel dual core. For quad i5 all the way.
