Intel Core 2 Extreme

Hi guys,

I have a LGA 775 motherboard and i was wondering if the Intel Core2 Extreme Desktop Processor is enough for next generation games ?

That's a processor that's made especially for the heaviest applications, but they came out a few years ago.

Just wanted to know if i buy one of these will they be enough for next gen games in high graphic quality and worth my money.

Don't think i'd go extreme edition unless someone is giving it away, but a decent quad core may help some. If it's more than like $100 I'd just save for a new system.

my brother has a q9650 and that thing KILLS everygame hes thrown at it.

Thinking kills must be subjective, since I feel my OC'd IB is just slightly more than adequate.
