What would be a good upgrade for a currently Intel Core2 Duo Processor E6400?
I play league of legends and I'm getting around 50-60fps with down crashes to 30fps.
I feel as if the cpu is choking as I switched the gt 730 with a gtx 1050 and only 3-5 fps increase.
Looking for a stable 60fps with fewer crashes down in fps. Just ordered 4 more GB of ram for 10$.

Im looking at E8600 which I can get for 12$ or Q9650 for 33$. Would either of these help?

Current Specs:

Intel Core2 Duo Processor E6400
ASUS P5QL PRO LGA 775 Intel P43
4GB 667mhz
gt 730 ddr3
1tb hdd

Solution
LoL only uses up to 2 cores so the fastest MHZ you can get would benefit you the most.

E6400 = 2.13Ghz
E8600 = 3.33ghz
Q9650 = 3ghz

You can also use 1066mhz RAM and a Overclocked FSB of 1600mhz, the benefits to fps is marginal but it does improve everything else. With older systems I prefer to use a Quad and overclock, overall use is more enjoyable when compared to a dual core. Both of those CPU's will hit 4GHZ overclock with better ram and upgraded cooling.

E8500 would be a good upgrade and only be a few bucks as they were used in a tonne of OEM PCs and there are a million on eBay. Especially if you can overclock it (it should do 3.8 at least easily). You might need new RAM though as overclocking on P5 platform requires increasing the bus speed.

If you can't overclock then the quad would be your best bet - I'd be surprised if you could get Q9650 for $30. If you can go for it.
