Howdy.

Still Core i3-8350K is worth to buy it as budget mid-range CPU even these days?! I've decided to build myself a second custom RIG for mid-range gaming. As MOBO, I was thinking to buy the MSI B360M Mortar Titanium. Still, do I need to delid myself that i3 8350K or nah?!

Well first of all, all of the i3 8350ks price comes from it being unlocked. And looking at your choice of motherboard you won't be overclocking it, so buying it would be pointless.
Either get the i3 8100 or the i5 8400. And don't worry about delidding, there's no point to do it unless you overclock.

It's entirely pointless with a B360 chipset since you can't overclock and the tiny. Even with a Z370 it is a waste of money. You also have to factor in another $30 for a halfway decent heatsink.

Get an i5-8400
- Cheaper since it includes a heatsink plus you don't need a Z370 motherboard.
- Much faster multi-core performance (even if you OC an 8350K)
- Mildly slower Single to quad core performance than stock 8350K (not enough to matter, games that aren't heavily multi-threaded generally aren't demanding in this area either)

If you were looking at an 8350K. There isn't much reason to step down to an 8100. Since we've already established an i5-8400 is cheaper than an 8350K. Anyway, assuming you were not going to OC and did not want the 8400 for whatever reason. An i3-8100 is a better buy than an 8350K. There is only a 10% difference in CPU speed. Something you'd likely never notice. The $80 saved (CPU + Heatsink) could get you an extra 8GB RAM, the next level up in GPU, buy a much nicer case, gaming keyboard, 480GB SSD or something else.

Somehow I realized that myself too. At least... I mean sure I will buy eventually the i5-8400. Exactly in the last few seconds I thought it would have been a wrong decision if I had decided to buy that i3-8350K.
