Okay, boys and girls. It's time to play the Match Game. As I previously mentioned, I have two wireless keyboards ans one wireless mouse. I also have three non-unifying dongles and three unifying dongles. So which will work with which? The * signifies unifying dongle.

Why are you asking this?
Try them all.

Connect dongle #1.
Pair with mouse. Does it work?
Pair with keyboard #1. Does it work?
Pair with keyboard #2. Does it work?
Repeat with next dongle.

I have several Logitech combos. Transmitters can be flaky. Unifying software is awful. Things are even worse running windows 11. Don't ask, test each transmitter.

As I'm finding out. Just bought a NEW MK540 combo. The mouse pairs in an instant. The keyboard, NOT on a dare. Since the pc came preinstalled with win11, I seriously thinking about replacing 11 with win10.

I would not expect the problem to be Windows 11 per se.

I am using Windows 11 (Pro): two systems both with Logitech combos.

I do not use the unifying software.

If keyboards and/or mice do not work then look in Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for any related error codes, warnings, or even informational entries that mention Logitech, the keyboard, or the mouse.

Device Manager also reports device related events.

Run "dism" and "sfc /scannow" - Windows may find and fix some related buggy or corrupted files.

Doublecheck that you have the correct drivers installed. Download directly from Logitech - no third party tools or installers.

I had the same problem with the keyboard not pairing. It was the keyboard not transmitting data. I have one windows 10 and two windows 11 PC's running Logi combos.
Installing windows 10 is a bad idea. EOL for windows 10 is in two months.

I tried a K270, a K540 and a k350 keyboard with my win11 computer. I tried several unifying and standard usb dongles. NONE of the keyboards would pair with the computer. My winn11 box is updated as of 19 Aug 2025. Why won't the keyboards pair? Is this another example of mictosoft's sycophants purposely disabling their gear that worked well under the previous os in order to force the users to buy new kit as was done with win10?

All three keyboards I tried???

Just got to say that the orange dongles with the * make this super easy with the Unify software. As far as multi-device wireless keyboard and mouse go, there is (IMO) no better solution than Logitech.

You can purchase just the receiver/USB side of these as the Unify devices and learn them right in. Super simple, super easy. I will say that over a long period of time I see these fail about the same rate as mid to cheapo prices USB WiFi dongles, so keep that in mind. I keep an extra one on hand.

It is SUPER important to keep wired keyboard and mouse on hand for such things.
