Now I need to rationalize getting a 16 core CPU I will only ever use 20-30 threads on 1 % of the time I am using it lmao.

Yeah I have a 3900X in my rig and I think I might have gone a little overboard with some of the specs on it. Do I regret it? No, but that's only because i want my rig to last several years before I need to upgrade, and that's with the 2K ultrawide monitor I plan to buy soon.

Same. It is the primary reason I want a 5900x, mind as well get the best cpu for AM4 if I plan to keep it for a while. I want to keep my AM4 platform for 6+ years like I did with my 3570k build before it. Plus I can sell the 3900x for 350-400 I would think.

I'm building an ITX rig that's going into an entertainment center, and using my 2070 as the GPU. I want a 5600X but at the same time I'm also worried about having to flash the BIOS on the motherboard to get the CPU to work.
