Intel Core i5-3210M upgrade options?

Hey y'all,

I'm considering an upgrade - possibly to Intel i7 - on my current Core i5-3210M. It uses a PGA988B socket with max TDP of 35W.

Am wondering what my upgrade options would be if I wanted to improve performance by, say, 50%+.

Any answers or expertise would be gratefully received.

not a good idea. most laptops are engineered to deal with a specific amount of heat and power use. Maybe if you can find one that is the same. Also, are you sure your CPU isnt soldered to the mobo? Not sure if that is still common practice or not.

what do you need the performance for, BTW? games, work stuff, general speed?

Buy a xeon v2 16 core but guess what? new mobo and all the trimmings.
