Hi. I am interested in buying Intel Core i5 3570 3.4GHz. It seems like a solid CPU but was wondering since we're in December 2014, how well does it manage with all the newest games out now, and how well do you reckon it will manage with the ones that are coming out in 2015?

3570 is capable running anything just like any haswell i5 (4670/4690). Its a still great cpu for gaming. You can get a "K" version and overclock it for some more performance.

Here's a site that does a good job of comparing, I've cued up your 3570k and a current 4690k so you can see the difference in performance. The biggest difference is, if you live in the US, the 4690k is much cheaper as well. No reason not to get it unless it's incompatible with your motherboard for some reason.

Cheers guys, I was actually looking for a website like that @jasonite. I haven't bought the CPU yet, I'm currently looking at bundles and was wondering which i5 to go for since the CPUs that cost around £140-£180 itself, have similar bundle prices if you know what I mean. Any of the CPUs that cost around the 140-180 mark are a better buy than the 3570?

I think the best deal for you would be the i5-4590 or the 4670k. Both cost less than the 3570 in the uk market and your biggest determinant here will be if you are interested in OC'ing or not. The 'K' designation means it is unlocked to overclock. If that's the case grab the k, if not, then get the 4590. Both perform as well or better than the 3570, both will save you money, and both will handle any games in 2015 just fine.

As far as motherboards, I would steer you towards the H97 or Z97 chipsets. They are both current, inexpensive, and are ready to accept the next generation of CPU's, whereas the H81 is toward the end of its life.

Damn, most of the bundles come with the H81 too. I will probably stick with another CPU then, maybe a K since it looks good for future use. You guys know any good websites with bundles? Was even considering checking out outside UK for better pricing.

Don't really wanna go over the price of £300. Would something like this be good? http://www.cclonline.com/product/157514/NoMfgCode/Motherboard-Bundles/CCL-Alpha-Apogee-II-Motherboard-Bundle/MBB-INT-EXT2/
