I ran a 4790k with 1080Ti for 5 years (2018-2023). I was at 1440p though and could max most everything out...except in the more recent titles like Cyberpunk.

With a 1070Ti, I would say that would still be a solid 1440p setup...but you'd have to make a lot of graphical sacrifices to play at 4K with that. What kind of games are you targeting?

Have been running an i7 4790k for ten years, now as a backup machine. Added a 1080 ti in 2017. 1080 ti was overkill for the 4790k. Future decent Linux PC but not a gaming machine unless you play old games. MS kills off windows 10 in about a year from now. That's when I install a Linux distro.

Might be able to handle mid-2010 era games at 4K on mid graphics detail. Been a while since I tried, but Battlefront, Shadow of Mordor, and Batman games etc should be playable at 4K. I had Star Wars Squadrons running on a Sandy Bridge and GTX1660S at 4K around 30fps. Loading was a bit slow though.
