Hello and welcome to the Intel Core i7 Haswell-E CPUs MegaThread.

Intel Core i7 is the name which applies to several desktop and laptop CPUs. Three of the most popular microarchitectures (further in text refered to as MA) for Intel Core i7 CPUs, along with Intel Core i5,i3,Intel Celeron,Pentium and Xeon CPUs are Sandy Bridge,Ivy Bridge and Haswell.
Intel Core i3 processors target the consumer grade market, Intel Core i5 CPUs are the most usual choice of a "hardcore" gamer and Intel Core i7 CPUs target the business and high-end consumer markets for both desktop and laptops.
Intel uses a lot of different MAs to make their CPUs (List of Intel's MAs) For example, Intel Core i7 2nd generation CPUs feature the (codenamed) Sandy Bridge MA,Intel Core i7 3rd generation CPUs feature the (codenamed) Ivy Bridge MA and so on. Intel's latest and most powerful CPUs feature the Haswell-E MA.

Haswell-E is one of Intel's many MAs that includes 3 of Intel's latest and greatest CPUs (Intel Core i7 5820K,Intel Core i7 5930K and the Extreme Edition Intel Core i7 5960X). Haswell-E features the socket LGA 2011-v3 (also refered to as LGA 2011-3),which is an updated version of the LGA 2011 socket. Motherboards that support this socket, along with DDR4 memory are the X99 motherboards.

Intel Core i7 5820K
Brief introduction
Intel Core i7 5820K is an Intel hexa-core CPU with Hyperthreading, which means that Windows will read it as a 12-core CPU.It has 15MB of L3 Cache. Its base clock is 3.3 GHz and the 5820K Turbos up to 3.6 GHz. It uses a 22nm manufacturing node and it has a 140W TDP (Thermal Design Power). However,Intel has decided to drop some PCIe lanes on this CPU,leaving you with only 28 lanes at 8GT/s(Gigatransfers/second),which pretty much means that you will not be able to run 4-way/Quad SLI/Crossfire,but only 3-way SLI/Crossfire.

Intel Core i7 5930K
Brief introduction
Intel Core i7 5930K is Intel's 6-core CPU that features Hyperthreading, which means that Windows will read it as a 12-core CPU. Since Intel "got rid" of the two cores that the i7 5960X has, they also removed 5MB of L3 cache, leaving you with "just" 15MB. It's clocked at 3.5 GHz with a Turbo frequency of 3.7 GHz. It has 40 PCIe 3.0 lanes,it uses the same manufacturing process as the 5820K and the 5960X of 22nm and it has a 140W TDP.

Intel Core i7 5960X Extreme Edition
Brief introduction
Intel Core i7 5960X Extreme Edition is the only Intel's consumer grade 8-core CPU.It can work on 16 threads thanks to the power of Hyperthreading. Each core has its own 32 KB L1 instruction and data caches, along with 256 KB of L2 space. A massive 20 MB of L3 cache is shared between them, working out to the magical 2.5 MB per core Intel’s architects aim for. Its clocked at 3.0 GHz,with a Turbo frequency of 3.5 GHz. It has a whopping 40 PCIe 3.0 lanes at 8 GT/s. It's manufactured using Intel's 22nm node and it has a 140W TDP.

I have 5820K running on X99-Deluxe with 16GB G.Skill DDR4 2800 CL16.

I am happy to report it's running stable at 34x125 with only 1.120V. RAM running XMP profile. Stress testing done with AIDA64 and OCCT. Max core temps 71° with NH-D14 cooler. :)

Not looking to break any records but just trying to have a nice overclock that is stable without heating my CPU too much...

As soon as I have some free time I will try to push on the 100 strap and see how far I can take my RAM. Setting offset or adaptive voltage is tricky on the 125 strap as the VUID table is tailored for the 100 strap. Also I can get much lower idle power on 100 strap compare to 125 strap (<20W vs >40W)

Hi all.I have Asus X99 Deluxe-5930K-Corsair H105 Push/Pull-2xAsus GTX970 StriX SLI -4x4GB Kingston HyperX Predator DDR4 3000Mhz CL15-Corsair AX1200i-

My system is freezing after startup in 10 minutes.Playing games or surfing on internet is same.Bluescreen code is Whea_Uncorrectable_Error...Motherboard debug code is 02.It means microcode...So my cpu defected?

So far so good. Needed the latest BIOS updates and Drivers before things were stable. No OC at the moment just happy to finally getting everything running.

I am able to work from home 3 days a week and this is my work/play/Lightroom Setup
