Hello im new on tomshardware and actually i dont have any kind of backround from Forums.

My original computer:
Intel core2 Duo E6300 1,86Ghz
3 GB DDr2 3x 1Gb
Ati Radeon HD 5450 1GB
and there is the original PSU dont know the model but its 200W (MAX output)

So my problem is that i Got my new (its not new anymore but new to me ;D) Processor Intel core2 Duo E6850 3,0GHZ and i put it on the socket, and when i pressed the power button my computer just started to wink red light..... But i solved that light problem when i took the Batery off from my motherboard for 10-20 seconds. And after that my computer Started to Roll all the fans and power lights and everything started to work except there was no video signal... its just black screen. i tried to use my integrated GPU but it wont change anything.

I realy hope that you guys can help me.

if there is not enought information about my computer just reply and i tell what you want.

What is the motherboard? Does it's documentation specify that it is compatible with the new processor? Quite likely a BIOS update would be required even if it says that it is compatible.

After that..
Hook up an internal speaker, and when booting there will be a beep code. Look up the beep code for further information regarding the problem.

I have software called Speccy and all these informations are copied from there:

Motherboard
Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard
Model 0A5Ch (XU1 PROCESSOR)
Chipset Vendor Intel
Chipset Model Q965
Chipset Revision C1
Southbridge Vendor Intel
Southbridge Model 82801H0 (ICH8D0)
Southbridge Revision B0
System Temperature 41 °C

BIOS
Brand Hewlett-Packard
Version 786E1 v01.09
Date 5.1.2007

Is there everything you need ?
And yeah my motherboards socket is PLGA-775 and the processor is PLGA - 775 i checked it from Intels website.

Without having the equipment in front of me, I won't be able to diagnose the problem. Upgrading the processor is not a simple task.

If you want to try and trouble shoot the problem yourself, you will have to go to the Support website for your motherboard and read up on how to upgrade the processor. It should have a detailed explanation of the steps required and you will likely see something that you missed or did incorrectly. The support site will also give you detailed instructions as to how to update the bios.

If you aren't confident in your skills in this area, it will likely be easier, and in the long run probably cheaper, to take the system to a local shop.

I don't think that this is the answer you are looking for, but it is the best I can offer for a response.

Yeah thats not the answer i thought im gonna get 😀D but i Appreciate. But hey i hooked up one external speaker on my computer and installed the E6850 on the socket and i got the beep information. It beeps 9 times. i checked intels websites but i cant find anything that tells what that 9 beeps means.

ROM means Read Only Memory (in this case probably in the BIOS).
A checksum is an process where you add up the numerical value of some bytes in memory and compare the total to a known figure. In other words it is way of knowing if a piece of data has been altered or corrupted.

I can't find a manual for a motherboard with the '0A5Ch' model name. I can't confirm one way or another if the 9 beeps means a problem with ROM.

I think it may be time to take it to a professional.

=( my baby needs to go to doctor... Man the beep code problem will go off when i take the bios battery or waht ever it is off from my mother board. and when i put it back after 10-20 secs my computer starts but no video signal. But it wont beep anymore and the cmoputer starts all the fans and everything starts.

And the motherboard model is Intel Q965 there is user manual in google.

Srry if im still talking but i dont realy want to go to professional. :/

Please note that Q965 is the name of a chipset, not a motherboard.
I'll assume (well guess actually) that you have an Intel DQ965GF motherboard. It does use the Q965 chipset. But you need to confirm what it is.
It's manual is here (http://downloadmirror.intel.com/15033/eng/DQ965GF_ProductGuide03_English.pdf)
Chapter 3 explains how to update the BIOS.
Appendix A describes the beep codes. But there is no 9 beep code listed.

Assuming that you have an unrecoverable CMOS memory problem, you can try to re-initialize the storage and attempt a recovery (description starting on page 52) by changing the BIOS jumper settings to 'recovery' mode.

If that doesn't work, you really will need to take it to someone that has some diagnostic equipment to figure out what is wrong. If you can't get a video signal, you are very limited in what you can do yourself.

Yeah i used my integrated GPU to test if the problem is my PSU and also i removed the HD5450 while i tested.

I noticed something that might be the reason why Intel core2 duo E6850 wont work. Intel core2 duo E6850 got FSB 1333mhz and my Chipset supports 1066mhz and lower. so i think the reason is that the CPU FSB is faster than my motherboards FSB.

and also The E6850 is 65 Wat and the 6300 is 65 wats also, checked from intels website.

But if you can answer to this queston. Why my computer starts with the E6850 when i remove the BIOS battery off for 20 seconds and then put it back? all the fans works and everything but no video signal =/
