Question Intel DZ77GA-70K problems communicating to gpu.

The computer I just built is having problems. When I plug in the integrated hdmi to mobo, windows boots up and a connection is made to the monitor. Although, anything plugged into the graphics card isn’t sending any signal. Gpu is known to work. Please help! This is a gift for a friend whom we’re surprising today! Thank you all!

Came with 560 Ti, but trying to use gtx 980
4x4gb Elpida Ram (don’t know speed)
High Power 600w (model: HPG-600ST-F12S)
1tb Wd Blue Hdd
Another 1.5tb hdd (seagate maybe?)
Phantek eclipse p300 case
