There is always dust in air inside, yes light has to bounce off something to see it.

But 3d moving holograms exist although they are expensive to do.

Ok so when I surf the net I will get a headache just like I do after paying $15 to see a 3D movie? No thanks 2D is fine with me...this 3D craze is just a ploy to rake in extra $$ out of mindless folks.

Maybe you should check your facts/links? The first link was just a cheap green screen effect and the second link was images "Appearing" to be floating in mid air by using a concave mirror.

That was 2006 so they have advanced quite a bit since then.

I did say it had to be bounced of of something otherwise you cannot see light that is the whole idea of vision, he claimed 3d displays where not possible yet in the the air but they are, and it is very costly and uses plasma.

That link is true 3d, but I wouldn't exactly say it's going to go anywhere mainstream. That plasma technology will only ever yield one colour and probably uses an immense amount of energy for a 100 dot display. That story is from 2006, can't find any evidence of progress since then...

The first video is a greenscreen. Ever heard of that?

The second one uses a MIRROR to bounce the light off. Not even close to a free standing hologram.
