Intel HD graphics not working

My system always defaults to Windows basic display adapter, even if Intel HD graphics is installed. It says that there was an error 'code 43' which disables Intel HD. Then if I roll back the driver, and reinstall Intel HD, it works until I restart, where it's disabled again.

I need to get this sorted out, it's a pain. And worried this might carry over to when I buy a graphics card.

if it a newer mb 170 chipset or older mb chipset. in the bios look for primany display set it to ipgpu not auto and turn off mulit monitor support this keep windows from looking for a gpu and posting with the wrong hardware. also make sure the bios set to efi, and has the newest bios on it. make sure you installed the newest intel chipset drivers and mei drivers for the mb.
How are you rolling back the driver and reinstalling. I recommend that you remove the driver from programs and features, then device manager, and restart. If on windows 10, enter settings and check for updates, and the driver will automatically install usually more reliably than manually in many cases. If on windows 7, go to control panel and check for updates there.
