Intel HD Graphics Update Causing Problems with GTA V

I was about to run GTA V last night and my AMD Raptr software told me there was a new Intel GPU update, so I installed it and now GTA V runs very poorly, framerate is way down, skin textures not displaying properly (my character's skin is partially transparent) and it just looks and plays awful. It ran perfectly before that.

I'm trying to roll back the drivers but the option Device Manager is greyed out.
I've downloaded the previous version but when I try to install it, it says it's not compatible with my processor, even thought I'm sure it's the right one. Device Manager says I've got Intel HD Graphics 4600, and this is the one I'm trying to install: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24785/Intel-Iris-and-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-64-bit

I read somewhere that I need to uninstall the Intel drivers, run a "driver cleaner" scan and then install the previous version.... would this work? Would I just black screen my PC by doing this?

I've read on this forum: https://communities.intel.com/message/294970 that someone with the same problem reverted back to the old driver and now it works again, I'm just having trouble getting that done!

I've got Windows 8.1
Intel Core i5 4590
AMD Radeon R9 270X
H97 Motherboard

Thanks :)

The fact that it was an intel graphics update, is a big red flag to me, just does not seem right. If you're using a 270X, intel integrated graphics shouldn't be doing anything.

Thanks for your reply! I did actually change monitors just before updating the Intel drivers and now that you mention it I think I may have plugged the monitor into the motherboard HDMI out.... I'll need to check when I get home from work.

If it is plugged into the motherboard, would my PC be using the on-board Intel GPU instead of the Radeon?
If it's that easy, I'm just gonna facepalm now and get it out of the way!
If not, I'll look into the BIOS option first, then if still no luck I'll try the driver uninstall option and report back with how it worked out.

If it is plugged into the motherboard, then YES it WILL be using integrated graphics.

Plug the HDMI cord into your graphics card.
